Six million copies of Metro Exodus have been sold so far
Metro Exodus developer 4A Games announced that they have sold 6 million copies of the game since its launch in 2019.
According to the Embracer Group, the company reported strong sales across its gaming brands during the last fiscal quarter, and said: "The key revenue driver for the quarter was strong back catalog performance, which exceeded management's expectations."
While much praise has been lavished on Hot Wheels Unleashed, which has sold 1 million copies worldwide since its launch in September, Metro Exodus also deserves credit.
The company said:
"The back catalog sales have also been driven by the ongoing title Metro Exodus, which has sold 6 million copies since its February launch, and Saints Row The Third: Remastered.".
Metro Exodus has seen its share of controversy since its release, removed from Steam and made exclusive to the Epic Games Store for the PC.
the game was met with dozens of positive reviews (including on Steam), with many praising its art and atmosphere.
In the end, Metro Exodus also got a generic update for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
